SAFWAN MARKET: Hadi Mahood, Iraq, 2018, 25 minutes The winner of the 2018 BBC Arabic Festival Short Documentary Award examines the fallout of a decision to demolish the city of Samawa’s largest marketplace.

WAHDON: Fajr Yaacoub, Palestine, 2012, 15 minutes A docu-drama about three Lebanese filmmakers during civil war.

A GIFT OF MY FATHER: Salam Salman, Iraq, 2015, 7 minutes The winner of the Berlinale’s Best Short Film award traces how an everyday car ride descended into the nightmare of the Baghdad Blackwater shootings.

FOOLISH DECISION: Saaib Ghazi, Iraq, 2018, 25 minutes A docu-drama exploring the decisions that have led to wars.

THE SILENCE OF THE SHEPHERD: Raad Mushatat, Iraq, 2014, 85 minutes The winner of the Best Feature Film and Best Director awards at the 2017 London Eye International Film Festival follows the story of a village whose moral order is shaken after a girl disappears.
