Exiled from Turkey due to her outspokenness on Kurdish issues, Aynur Dogan knows what it is to take risks for her art. Now living in Holland, she continues to bravely speak out; as a voice for her people, she is devoted to preserving Kurdish musical traditions

During this soulful performance, Kurdish vocalist Aynur Dogan blends Kurdish folk with Western music while interpreting traditional repertoire in a modern way. She is renowned for boldly presenting traditional Kurdish folk songs with lyrics about the life and sufferings of Kurdish people – and of Kurdish women in particular.
