Name

William Franklyn Leathers in Concert

Description

In celebration of Black History Month, we invite you to join us for an unforgettable performance from William Franklyn Leathers, a young trumpet and piano virtuoso with an extraordinary gift. At 17, he is already a multi-award-winning musician, and has studied with legendary trumpeter Wynton Marsalis.

Now a student at the famed Julliard School in New York City, Leathers takes the stage at the Museum with his father, Howard Leathers, trumpeter and vocalist, to share their musical father-son story. They’ll be joined by an ensemble of supporting musicians to play music ranging from jazz and blues, to gospel, reggae, classical, and more.
