Description

Join the winners the Marcel Duchamp Prize, France’s most prestigious art award, Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige for a performative lecture, exploring the line where fiction and reality blur.

Inspired by a surprising turn of events during the premier of their 2006 film A Perfect Day, this presentation will feature film stills, clips, and dramatic readings. Be prepared to discover new connections between images, archives, disappearance, context, and truth.

This event sets the stage for the artists’ upcoming exhibition On Scams (I must first apologize) — a multi-part project exploring notions of trust across geographical and virtual borders — on view at The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery from June 22 to Sept. 2, 2019.
